Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues or simply the feeling that something is missing in your life, my goal is to help you identify the necessary changes that need to be made to move towards happiness and health.
Sometimes adolescents need a safe space to discuss difficult issues. I work with young people in building the necessary skills to tolerate intensity of emotion, manage difficult relationships, and become comfortable with who they are.
Communication is the key to a successful relationship. When that communication breaks down, we disconnect from one another. In working with couples I strive to create open dialogue in order to clarify each individual’s goals, bring underlying issues to the surface, and remind both parties of the love that brought them together in the first place. With a commitment to communication couples can then work towards compromise and healthy resolution. Whether you wish to resolve minor issues or are contemplating separation, my goal is to make sure both parties needs are being met.
Eating Disorders are complex in the need to not only address unhealthy behaviors, but also the emotional issues that make these behaviors feel necessary in order for the individual to cope. Therefore it is essential to employ a multi-disciplinary approach, using traditional talk therapy to explore one’s history, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to challenge distorted thoughts and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to manage intensity of emotion. Dependent upon one’s level of recovery, I will also coordinate with a qualified registered dietician to ensure a comprehensive level of care.
